Sanctification Aid

"To be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit" (Rom.15:16).

When we became Christians, the Holy Spirit played an important role. As times goes on, that role evolves into His helping us in our daily, on-going sanctification. The Holy Spirit allows the inner man to be strengthened, as this sanctification process progresses. There are several scriptures that attest to this, and rather than quote them here, I will list them so that we can all have some verses to read and meditate upon today. They are: 1 Pet.1:2, 1 Cor.6:11, 2 Thess.2:13. These scriptures will show us how the Holy Spirit works within us to insure our sanctification. Here are a couple of more verses that will help. "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior" (Titus 3:5-6). Through this never ending sanctification process, responsibilities are ours. Paul tells us in 1 Cor.6:19-20 that our bodies now serve as "a temple of the Holy Spirit." He goes on with to say that one of our jobs is to pay homage to that temple by not desecrating it. This is so because we were bought at a price, and a part of that price is to honor God with our bodies. In this sanctification process, we are instructed to pray that He would "strengthen us with power through His Spirit" (Eph.3:16). Because it is such a great honor and responsibility to gain this sainthood, we are given even more help. That's for next time....

Have a great day.... Go about doing good.... Love mark Phil.4:11
