The Revealing

"When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me" (Jn.12:44-45).

We live in a revealing world... We watch the news to have the current affairs of the world revealed to us, and the weather to know what to expect for the day. Commercials reveal things to us that will supposedly make our lives better, and newspapers reveal a bit about most everything. When Jesus makes His claims about who he is, we now understand that He has seen God and knows God... In today's verses, Jesus makes another astounding claim.... "when he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me." Jesus is letting us know that He wants to reveal God to us. The words in today's verses were spoken to the Pharisees, He said this to His disciples: "If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well..... Don't you know me , Philip, even after I have been among you for such a long time? Anyone who has see me has seen the Father" (Jn.14:7,9). In the most telling of terms, Jesus says to us that the Father is revealed through Him! The language is strong, clear, and concise... When we accept Jesus into our lives, we are getting it all... The Son and the Father... If Jesus is rejected, then so is the one and only full revelation of God known to man... "He who hates me hates my Father as well" (Jn.15:23). Jesus wants to make His revealing complete in us, but it is totally up to us to accept. Make no mistake.... A rejection of Jesus, is a rejection of God! In accepting Him, we get to have God revealed to us. How great and wonderful is this... In Jesus Christ we have the revealing...

Have a great day... Let His light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
