I Am

"My Father is always at work to this very day. and I, too, am working" (Jn.5:17).

In the past four devotionals, we have shared some of the claims that Jesus made about Himself. This is not a test, but can you remember them? He said that He was from God and is the only one to have seen Him. He also claimed to know God, and that God was revealed through Him. Today we will look at one more very important claim that Jesus makes to let us know of His deity. This one caused great consternation among the religious leaders of the day, but instills a wonderful confidence in us. Many of the Jews of that day, even though they viewed the miracles of Jesus, were in denial as to His deity. They had gathered up stones to stone Him after seeing the miracles, and Jesus responded; "For which of these will you stone me?" (Jn.10:32) They claimed Him to be a blasphemer and said; "because you, a mere man, claim to be God" (V 33). Jesus has the authority to take on the same name that God used when speaking to Moses through the burning bush (Ex.3:13-14).... I AM... We have a Savior that is every bit deity... In the eighth chapter of the gospel of John, He explains Himself. He even takes it to a higher level when He says: "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be. You will indeed die in your sins" (V 24). Jesus may as well be speaking to you and I right now... Jesus is indeed the Son of God that he claims to be. He came from God and has seen Him. He knows God and has revealed Him... Finally, He lets us know in perfect terms, that I AM... "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (Jn.14:6). He is everything He claims to be... A great description.... I AM....

Have a wonderful day... Praise His Name... Love mark Phil.4:11
