Find The Right Path

"I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for a man to direct his steps" (Jer.10:23).

It is clear to me, and backed up by today's verse, that man has a need for guidance. Sometimes things that seem to be right are exactly what we do not need. There is evidence that in societies where God is forgotten, moral chaos exists. When people have a God to turn to, His principles of justice, morality, and righteousness also exist. I believe that this is established when people seek the Lord for guidance. Throughout the Old Testament, Israel ran afoul when they separated themselves from God's principles. We as Christians have a decided advantage in the guidance department. Jesus... "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (Jn.8:12). As surely as the pillar of light led the Israelites through the wilderness, (Ex.13:21) Jesus is the light from God that lights the way for life. This being said, it is then up to us to become the light of the world. (Matt.5:14) As a shepherd guides his sheep, Jesus says to us that He is our shepherd. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep" (Jn.10:11). Jesus also lays the claim to being our King, willing to pass the laws necessary for us to have a life in Him... Through being our Shepherd, King, and Light, Jesus promises to guide us through a dark and difficult world. The path that the world offers us is often marked by things that will drag us down and lead us to do things that we should not do. Jesus will provide the way to travel the path we need to travel. The right path...

Have a great day... Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
