Seven Signs

"They did not remember his power----the day he redeemed them from the oppressor, the day he displayed his miraculous signs in Egypt" (Psa.78:42-43).

There are important signs and symbols all around us. There are traffic signs that are designed to keep us safer on the roads and highways. When we get married, we often exchange rings. These rings are a sign for us to serve as a reminder of the vows we made to one another. God wanted us to know that Jesus was His Son, and so I have selected seven signs found in the gospel of John that bear testimony concerning Jesus. They would be good things for us to read and meditate upon today... By the way, John tells us (20:30) that that were many other signs... Too many to record.... In what is generally considered His first miracle, Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding feast in Cana. (2:1-11) This demonstrated His power over creation... Also in Cana,(4:46-54) He healed the nobleman's son, proving His power over diseases. Jesus healed the lame man at the pool of Bethesda, (5:1-9) showing His power over birth maladies. Near Bethsaida in Galilee, (6:1-14) Jesus fed 5,000 people after He blessed 5 small barley loaves and 2 little fish. He showed His power over food supply. Next, Jesus walked on water, (6:16-21) showing His power over nature. Jesus then healed a man in Jerusalem who was blind from birth, (9:1-10) showing His power over blindness. Lastly, in the town of Bethany, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, (11:39-44) showing His power over death. Let me see if I can get this straight. In order to bear testimony of His Son Jesus, God had Him perform these seven signs to show these things: He is the Creator.... He is the Savior.... He is Deity.... He is the Bread of Life.... He the Creator.... He is the Light.... He is the Life.... Jesus did these signs to impact those who saw them... How did He do?

Have a great start to your week. Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
