A Lovely Word - Grace

"All spoke well of Him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from His lips" (Lk.4:22).

The word grace is both an interesting and varied word. In today's verse, it is used to connote the way one speaks. Jesus' words were gracious. Ours are supposed to be the same... "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone" (Col.4:6). In a broader and more familiar sense, grace is used to show a loving kindness, favor or good-will toward someone. It is especially important in the way that God feels toward man. The writers of the New Testament used the word mostly to show that kindness that God bestows upon those who are really not deserving of it. It is used in a way that demonstrates how God will pardon sinners and offers an opportunity to gain eternal life through His Son. We have come through this definition to think of grace as an un-deserved or unmerited favor.. When we accept God's grace or favor we get to enjoy this wonderful spiritual state to its fullest, and even call it the state of grace... "I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it" (1 Pet.5:12). It is through the wonderful grace of God that hope springs eternal within us as his disciples. More next time about grace and the Christian...

Have a great day... Make a difference.... Love mark Phil.4:11
