I Owe You What?

"And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus" (Eph.2:6-7).

Its seems that in this world there is a price tag on everything. We pay to watch TV, see a movie, go to a ballgame, or just go for a ride in our car. Giving to one another with absolutely no strings attached is one of the truest pleasures of life. In keeping with my title, God owes us nothing, but gives us everything. If we start with today's verse, there is the gift of salvation. The apostle Paul does not stop his words at verse seven, but goes on with these important thoughts.... "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith --- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God --- not by works, so that no one might boast" (V 8). In His loving manner, God offers us salvation as a gift through grace. Now don't be mistaken... God calls on us to obey Him through belief, repentance, confession and baptism... But no matter what He calls us to do, the gift of His grace is free and clear. There is clearly no way for us to merit this wonderful gift, because in Jesus' words, we are unworthy servants.... "So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty'" (Lk.17:10). It is for us to remember always, that only through God's grace is salvation possible. He owes us nothing.... We owe Him everything...

Have a great day... Make you small part of the world better.... Love mark Phil.4:11
