More Knowledge

"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never go thirsty" (Jn.6:35).

Satisfaction is a hard term to describe. Just when do we become satisfied? Paul thought he was satisfied as Saul, the persecutor of Christians. He gave all of that up to achieve a greater satisfaction. Moses thought he was satisfied with his station in Pharaoh's court but found a greater satisfaction in leading his people out of Egypt. In today's verse, Jesus tells us that there is a wonderfully great satisfaction to be found in Him. It is like the satisfaction of fulfilling a great hunger or thirst. When it comes to having a more complete knowledge of Jesus, the more we know, the more we will want to know... "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in who are hidden all the treasures of of wisdom and knowledge" (Col.2:2-3). There is a great satisfaction in this knowledge because it is like opening a box of treasures, unimaginable in it's scope. The knowledge of Jesus lets us realize His greatness. "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority" (Col.2:9). We ought to be excited about gaining this knowledge in that we can become complete in Him. The satisfaction and excitement of gaining this knowledge should make us happy enough to echo Paul's words... "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Phil.4:4) Jesus has explained to us that there may be trouble in the world around us, but that in Him we can be assured of peace... Why? "I have overcome the world" (Jn.16:33). The excellence, satisfaction, excitement, and happiness found in the knowledge of Jesus is something that we should strive for daily. It is certainly worth having, more than anything in the world....

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better... Love mark Phil.4:11
