Knowledge And Growth - A Happy Pair

"<1>But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Pet.3:18)

Has some one asked you recently if you have seen any good movies lately? How about books? Has anyone asked you about a book that you might be reading, or for that matter, what kind of books you are interested in? Since I want to be fair and balanced here, when is the last time someone asked you: "Have you read any good scriptures recently?" In reality, when it comes to growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only reliable source is the Word of God... That's right... Reading (and meditating) upon God's Word... There is so much to read, and we should not limit ourselves. There are those wonderful Messianic prophesies (over 300) that reveal much about the nature of Jesus centuries before He was born. If we want to know more about the church, the Book of Acts truly supplies us with its rich beginnings and its early years. If we want to have Jesus' work revealed, we can turn to the epistles. "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted" (Heb.2:17-18). Jesus is presently our real king and high priest, but if we did not have this reinforced to us through the Word, it would have no real meaning. There have been countless movies, books, and TV shows that try to give us a view of Jesus. Some of them are better than others, and some are worthless. But if we wish to truly learn about Jesus, we must commit ourselves to a study of His Word. Lets also remember the "blessed man" of the first Psalm..."But his delight is in the law of the Lord. and in His law he meditates day and night" (V 2). Read/meditate... Knowledge/growth... Both are happy pairs...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
