The Veil And Transformation

"And we, with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes form the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2 Cor.3:18).

As we saw yesterday, the apostle Paul has argued that a veil covered the faces of those who would adhere to the Law of Moses, which offered no salvation, grace, or forgiveness. That same argument can be held for those today that adhere to any gospel other than that of Jesus Christ. The same crippling condemnation that gripped them through their allegiance to the Law, would keep that veil draped over their heads. In today's verse, we have some wonderful news about that veil... It is about the grace manifested by Christ on the cross... It is about how Jesus Christ works in the hearts and minds of people by means of the Spirit. Those who truly know Jesus have been renewed or transformed by the Spirit, and have their sins forgiven. "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). In a way, this verse says that this renewal is a one time shot.... An act of God in forgiving the sins of a penitent believer who has acted on his or her faith in obedience... But in reality, the Spirit, as we see in today's verse, never stops it's transforming work. As long as life continues in one's body, the believer is constantly being renewed. Knowing Christ should have allowed those Corinthian Christians to see a mirror image instead of through a veil, and be able to go beyond the Law. Being in Jesus Christ allows us to have a constant feast. We are able to partake of an ongoing transformation... It is a constant renewal of our hearts, minds, and actions... Crystal clear... No veil....

Have a wonderful day... Let His light shine through you... Love mark Phil.4:11
