Getting Ready To Dig

"With joy you shall draw water from the wells of salvation" (Isa.12:3).

In continuing the thoughts about digging one's well before they get thirsty, I just want to reflect on how that digging is coming along. I guess where I am going is about whether our digging is an on-going process... There is some preparation that goes into the act of digging. We must have the proper implement to dig with, and its a good idea to dig where we know there will be water. We know that there will be pratfalls in life that are awaiting us by way of temptations. As we dig, we must remember God's providence and know that He will not allow us to be tempted beyond that which we can resist (1 Cor.10:13). We have to have the confidence that He is able to work things out for our good. (Rom.8:28). God hasn't left us out on a desert island when it comes to helping with the digging, as we have the Holy Spirit to strengthen our inner self and develop the necessary character... To also help us along the way, He provides us with a ready made family. He is the Father, Jesus is the Son, and the children are our brothers and sisters in the Lord... The digging process will be facilitated with some proper technique... Keeping in close contact with the Lord through prayer will be a great aid... Being filled with His Spirit, by enmeshing ourselves in the Word will come to our aid. Also praising the Lord by singing of His glory, both aloud and to ourselves, will make the job easier as we teach one another in song and through the Word. Our well digging becomes easier when we build and strengthen relationships with the members of our Christian family by communing with one another on a regular basis and lifting each other up... In repenting and confessing our sins to God and one another, our resolve to dig gets stronger and more powerful... Are we continuing to dig our wells with conviction in prayer, the Word, and in fellowship with our family? Lets make sure we utilize all the help that is there for us... More thoughts on Monday...

Have a wonderful day... Make a difference... Love mark Phil.4:11
