More Power

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)" (Eph.2:4-5).

Yesterday I wrote about the great power of God...That great power that raised Jesus from the dead, seated Him at God's right side, and gave Him all authority. My case was this... If this is the power available to us, have we been raised from the dead or exalted to sit with Him? Half of that is explained in today's verses. Before we accepted Jesus into our lives, we were "dead in our transgressions," but we see that he "made us alive with Christ." This is not the only place that the apostle Paul explains when and where this happens... "Having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were raised up with Him through faith in the working of God who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your transgressions, and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him...." (Col.2:12-13). In baptism, we were we made alive again together with Christ, saved by grace. There is more to this however. What about that sitting with Him at the right hand of God thing? "And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Jesus Christ" (Eph.2:6-7). What an amazing and powerful truth... That same power that raised Christ, seated Him at God's right hand, and gave Him all authority, worked on us too. There is no other power possibly fathomed that could have made us alive after being dead in sin... It took that same divine power for us to be given a new life. As wonderful as God exercising His divine and creative power is in saving us, there is still more. Tomorrow we will take a look at the magnitude of God's power in our everyday lives.

Have a great day... Do good and give Him the glory... Love mark Phil.4:11
