Henry The Helicopter

"The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in a field. Though it was the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches" (Matt. 13:31-32)

As I shake away the cobwebs of my mind, I have a wonderful memory of the first book that I ever read.... HENRY THE HELICOPTER... Looking on the title page, I confirm that it was actually published in the year that I was born. I'm not sure if my mom bought it for me or it was a present, I never asked. A few years ago, I thought about the book and knew that I had to have a copy of my very own, so I went on eBay and purchased it. Henry now has a place on a shelf where I can see him and tell people the story. It is a beautifully illustrated children's book about a tiny helicopter that is relegated to an isolated corner of a busy airport. A tear runs down Henry's face, as he is made fun of by the other planes. They say that he is not a plane at all, and call him a "bug." Some very important men are walking around the airport with a problem. It seems that a doctor is stranded on a tiny desert island, and he is needed on a bigger island where there are many sick people. All of the planes are too big to land on the island, and their eyes turn to tiny Henry. He is the only aircraft small and mobile enough to land on the island to pick up the doctor, which he does. When he flew from the airport, all the other planes were now proud of him, as Henry was a hero, and he was now happy... We should never underestimate our ability to have a positive effect on people around us. We may not be made fun of, but there are still doctors on desert islands that may need our help. We may sometimes feel like the mustard seed of today's verses, but look what they became when planted. Let Henry be your hero too.... There are so many things to get done, and its just us little people here to do them. Some of us have some obvious talents, but do we dig deep to find the ones that are hidden within. So many great efforts have come from small beginnings, so go ahead and get started. Some of the "side effects" of our efforts are not only the people that we help, but the people that we get motivated to help also... By the way, if you come to my home, I'll let you read Henry The Helicopter...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
