Launch Out For Success

"Its never too late to become what you might have been."

George Eliot

We ought to be interested enough in the Lord's work to want to be successful in it. "Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" (1 Cor.15:58). So what is it that the Lord expects of us that will mark us as successes? The apostle Paul has just let us know that in giving ourselves to the Lord's work we can know that our labors are always recognized and never in vain... But what marks the success part? "And we pray this in order that you may have a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work...." (Col.1:10) When we are bearing fruit, it leads us to a height of interest that we might never have imagined.. Our interest is only maintained if we achieve success, for if we do not succeed, discouragement may result. This is obviously a lesson not only in the spiritual aspect of our lives, but in all others... I would like to make a few suggestions as to how success in the Lord's work will peak our interest in it. The more we study the Bible, the more we usually want to know... The more we meditate on it, the more we will want to be filled.... Study on your own and get into a group study also... We get personally built up when we see the growth of others around us that we have played a part in teaching. Its a joyful building up... When we see someone come to the Lord as a result of something we said or did, it makes us want to do more. I am afraid that many people have their interest wane because they have not tasted the joy and satisfaction of success. Another quote attributed to George Eliot is this one: "The important work of moving the world forward does not wait to be done by perfect men..." None of us are perfect, but all of us can work toward it. It is never too late, not only to be what we might have been, but what we want to be....

Have a great day... Make a difference.... Love mark Phil.4:11
