It All Counts

"Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windowa opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees, and praying, gave thanks to his God just as he had done before" (Dan.6:10).

The sooner that we come to grips with the fact that each decision we make counts, the more we will look at life the way it truly is. In today's verse, Daniel has just heard about the decree formulated by some of the Persian King Darius' satraps. They were jealous of Daniel, and because they could find no real fault in him, they decided to make some up.. For the next thirty days, no one was to be worshiped in Persia except King Darius. Daniel had risen to a high position in the king's court. All the while he remained loyal to God, and just because of some bogus decree, he would not change his allegiance... He would continue to pray to God... Future choices must be made by a person who has been shaped by choices already made. Daniel got here through his wise choices, and would continue to make them. The interesting thing about choices is their cumulative effect. Kind of like that proverbial snowball rolling down a mountain, little choices have more effect than we might think. Each decision and act shapes us into our true self, and one is never exactly the same after making any choice. With each decision, however slight it may be, we are building up our character. As we opt for the good choices, it becomes progressively easier to act in certain ways and more difficult to act in others. The writer of the Book of Hebrews stated it this way: "But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil" (5:14). None of us are standing still, and with each choice we are either becoming more or less God-like... Lets all opt to become more like God...

Have a great day... Differences can be made.... We can make them... Love mark Phil.4:11
