A Serious Thought - No Mulligans

"But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned" (Matt.12:36-37).

As I continue with some more thoughts on choices and decision making, something sobering comes to mind... We have looked at how choices shape our characters, so it is only natural to take this one step farther. God gets to view the parade of events which is our life from a unique vantage point. When we view a parade, we watch one float or marching band at a time go by. God gets to see the whole parade. While we might try to hide various things we have done from others, God doesn't miss any of them. We may try to take the kid on the playground view... "Oh.... That didn't count because I had my fingers crossed... I get to do it again..." Its kind of like taking a "mulligan" on the golf course. Either all the shots count, or none of them do... That's the way it works... Lets get one thing straight here. Very few, if any people chart out their lives to be wicked and evil, but by bad decisions and choices they may become that way. Though one might think that they were merely careless or haphazard, the consequences of their choices may haunt them forever.. God does not inadvertently leave anyone off heaven's list.."See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven?" (Heb.12:25). We should not say no to God... I guess that I have painted a rather bleak picture this morning, which is not normally my style, so you must read tomorrow's devotional.. I hope to put all of this in the best perspective...

Have a great day... Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
