There's No Tying in Baseball

"David asked the men standing near him, 'What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel?'" (1 Sam.17:26)

I want to finish this short series on choices and decisions on a positive note, so here goes... It should be encouraging for us to contemplate that every act counts. With this rationale, we can never truly say that our lives are either helpless or hopeless. Why, you ask? Because we can always do something that will do good! When it comes to spiritual matters, there is no such thing as a tie, hence my title today... When we look at today's verse we find the young boy David asking about Goliath. This giant Philistine has challenged any Israelite to a one-on-one battle, and all of them are scared to do so. In his youthful exuberance and confidence, David asks the question, and we all of know the rest of the story... We need that same youthful confidence within us for all of our lives. We can make choices that will in truth, alter the present situation for good... The widow of Mark 12, put into the treasury what seemed to be an insignificant amount, but her decision, made in faith, allows us to remember her 2,000 years later. We can also act in faith with the choices we make in the direction of goodness and truth. I believe that God does not require us to take larger steps than we are able, but smaller ones taken in faith.. The Lord isn't looking for people that can do everything, but for those willing to do what they can. We will find heaven as the outcome if we learn to choose those actions that move in God's direction. "But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom.6:23). We're not playing for the tie, but the win...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
