A Molding

"Have thine own way, Lord, have thine own way! Thou art the Potter; I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still."

From the hymn "Have Thine Own Way" Adelaide Pollard 1907

Have you ever used a mold of some kind to form something? When I was a kid, fishermen would make their own sinkers by melting lead and pouring it into a mold. It dried quickly and they would pop it out and voila..... They have a homemade sinker for their fishing... Obviously, what you are making will take the shape of the mold. Throughout our Bibles, there is a recurring theme or pattern regarding human behavior, and I think our "mold" example tells it like it is... Our God is one who loves, forgives, extends His hand, and blesses. In return, He expects people who live in a covenant relationship with Him to be holy. There are many aspects to holiness, and for today's purpose lets say that the integral parts are honesty, integrity, and justice. God expects faithfulness from His people and demands that kindness and dignity are to be extended to all, especially to those of the brotherhood of faith. These characteristics are the mold into which we are poured... In the hymn Have Thine Own Way, Adelaide Pollard really gets it when she writes; "Mold me and make me after Thy will..." Our job? "While I am waiting, yielded and still...." The molding by God comes full circle in Jesus Christ who served as our role model.. To be truly blessed, we are to conform to the purpose of His will. Lets make sure that we pliant enough in our lives to allow ourselves to be shaped into the people He wants us to be... Through Christ, God continues to mold a people....

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
