A Loving Church

"We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love that every one of you has for one another is increasing" (2 Thess.1;3).

When the apostle Paul writes to his protege Timothy in 1 Tim.3:15, he explains that the church of the living God is "God's household." It ought to be a privilege for all of us to see the church as God's big family.... His Family! In strong functional church families certain observable traits ought to exist, in that it is made up of people of varying ages... "Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity" (1 Tim.5:1-2). In strong churches, there ought to be concern, care, and love for one another just as we see in today's verse. Paul praises the church at Thessalonica for its family like qualities.... "Now about brotherly love we do not need to write you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And if fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more" (1 Thess.4:9-10). If the members of a church are to be like this, it requires a few important things. It requires a genuine willingness to know one another and take advantage of opportunities to spend time together. As congregations grow, it becomes harder to maintain this sense of a loving family, but we must strive at it mightily.. How we love one another is a true gauge of how strong a church actually is. Lets work on our love for one another, just like those Thessalonians.... Love knows no limitations... "Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more."

Have a great day.... Go about doing good... Love mark Phil.4:11
