We Had To Go Watch A Sunrise

"He bids the sun to rise and set; In heaven His power is known; And earth subdued to Him and yet bow low before His throne"

From "Let Every Heart Rejoice and Sing" Henry S. Washburne 1842

Jane's sisters come and visit with us at the end of every August and one the traditional things we do is to go to the beach in Brigantine and watch the sun rise over the ocean. That happened at 6:20 AM EDT this morning... No matter how many times we watch it, it is always glorious. We stand looking in anticipation as the first glint of light makes its way up on the horizon over the ocean, and watch in awe over the next few moments as the entire sun becomes fully visible. It never disappoints and my thoughts always turn to the magnificence of the world that God created for us. My devotional is a bit late this morning because we just got back from the beach... "For He is good, the Lord is good, and kind are all His ways; With songs and honors sounding loud, the Lord Jehovah praise; While the rocks and the rills, while the vales and the hills a glorious anthem raise; Let each prolong the grateful song, and the God of our fathers praise... And the God of our fathers praise..." Sometimes the undeniable awe of God's beautiful world is too much for words to describe, so instead of my feeble words, I want to complete today's devotional with the words of the Psalmist... "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. To him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever. Who by his understanding made the heavens, His love endures forever. Who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever. Who made the great lights ----- His love endures forever. The sun to govern the day, His love endures forever. The moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever...." (Psa.136:1-9) I hope you enjoyed our sunrise over the ocean this morning.... It was your too...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
