Being A Dedicated Circuit

"Give me some men who are stout-hearted men who will fight for the right they adore.
Start me with ten, who are stout-hearted men an I'll soon give you ten thousand more
..."

Oscar Hammerstein and Sigmund Romberg 1928

I am not an electrician, but fortunately I have a good friend who is. I have heard the term dedicated circuit bantered about more than a few times. If I am correct, it refers to an electrical line or circuit in your home on which only one appliance, like your refrigerator, is on and runs through its own circuit breaker. The term speaks for itself, as the circuit is dedicated just to that one item. Millions have followed Jesus because dedicated and single-purposed people like the apostle Paul showed us the nature of Jesus by the way he lived. His entire life after his conversion on the road to Damascus, was dedicated to the single purpose of furthering the Lord's work. One of the ways he did this was by exemplary living. His behavior was such that he wanted to leave no doubt whatsoever, that he was a follower of Jesus. If people within the Lord's church today show that same dedication, more folks will realize the greatness of Jesus and desire to follow him. I am sure that Hammerstein and Romberg did not have this topic or devotional in mind when they wrote the lyrics to Stout-Hearted Men, but the words work for me. Churches grow when people who are absolutely dedicated to the cause of Jesus Christ let themselves be known, both in word and in deed... Jesus ought to be the only appliance on our dedicated circuit... If we desire to become people of influence, we must have that same zeal Paul had, as we live and speak in a way that will encourage others about the greatness of Jesus Christ, through our dedication to Him....

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
