The All Important Knowledge

"For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and ask that you be filled with knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding..... " (Col.1:9).

Just what does it take to find and maintain a high interest the Lord's work? After all, there is so much to do, and only those that are truly interested will actually get it done. In today's verse, the apostle Paul is praying for the brethren at Colossae and hoping that they will have that fervor, zeal, interest, and desire to get it done. If we read on through verse ten, we'll find three things that he prays for. It would be good to read and meditate on those verses today. The first aspect is knowledge...Knowledge in or about something always increases our interest in that area. The more we learn about a sport or hobby, the more interested we will get in it. Knowledge of God's will increases interest... In verse six, Paul commends them for bearing fruit in response to understanding God's will. The more we learn of God's will, the more excited we will become.... "I have inherited your testimonies forever, they are the joy of my heart" (Psa.119:111). Getting this knowledge requires diligence on our part, because if we are negligent we'll move backward instead of forward. The Psalmist provides us with another good example... "O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day... (Psa.119:97). Lets all grow in the knowledge of the Lord and His message, so that our interest in doing His work will be our primary interest....

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better.. Love mark Phil.4:11
