The Truth Of Our Birthright

"And said to him, (Abraham) 'Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you...'" (Acts 7:3).

Any community of people draw their sense of a common purpose from shared ideals, likenesses, and dreams. Farming communities would draw their common purpose from their shared desire to farm, whereas industrial communities draw theirs from what they produce. Whether it is a community, nation, civic organization or sports team, the ideals and dreams emanate from the history of their commonality... We might think that the church had its roots at the death and resurrection of Jesus, but it goes back much farther.. It's genesis was in today's verse, when Abraham was called out of Ur of Chaldea to go to a new land. The love that inspires Christians, the zeal to obey, the hope to live with Him eternally, actually arise out of God's revelation of Himself to the patriarchs, lawgivers, and prophets. The last chapter of this story begins with Jesus being born in Bethlehem, and a rough hewn man like John the Baptist preparing the way for Him... When you read a novel, do you turn to the last page and read the ending, or start at the beginning to see how it unfolds? To the curious and avid reader, the answer is obvious. The whole book must be read from beginning to end to truly enjoy the flavor of what has been written and the author's purpose. Christians who fail to know the earlier chapters of the story deny themselves of that flavor. They deny what is their birthright...

Have a great day... Do good and give God the credit... Love mark Phil.4:11
