More Of The Sweet Aroma

"Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." (Heb.10:17)

When we come to the Lord in confession and repentance of our misdeeds, the confidence found in today's verse is amazing beyond comprehension. God sets the benchmark for us regarding forgiveness through Jesus' sacrifice for us as the next verse states... "And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin." In our desire to be Christ-like in our own lives, how are we to approach the magnitude of this type of forgiveness? I have a suggestion or two that might be valuable in this quest... It would do us well to frame up the offense committed in our minds. Mull over just what this person did to hurt, offend, or disappoint us... Make sure that we are clear and certain, removing the emotions from our minds. We might even go to the extent of writing it down with the intent of destroying it afterwards. After all this, we might conclude that it wasn't the offense we thought is was, and that perhaps it was just the way we heard or perceived it. If our conclusion is that the offense was real, its time to take it to God in private, because we are not ready to confront the offender yet. We must settle the matter with God, and then grant forgiveness in prayer... Finally, we are to seek God's wisdom and power so that we may be able to confront the offending party in love... I believe we now have the proper attitude and posture to comfort the offending party in love... Lets look at that tomorrow...

Have a wonderful day... Make your little part of the world better... Love mark Phil.4:11
