More Of The Lovely Fragrance

"Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him" (2 Cor.2:7-8).

In the arena of forgiveness, after praying to God to find His wisdom and power, we are now ready to meet with the one who has offended us. The emotion of anger, hurt, or disappointment should have been replaced by a desire to forgive and forget. We are now in a position and a posture to not only forgive, but to comfort in love. It might even be good for us to seek the right moment, perhaps asking for permission to speak with him or her... If the meeting is accepted in a conciliatory manner, we need to state the offence without even a trace of anger. The world doesn't always understand this loving approach, so don't get defensive if the person responds in a way that may attack us. We are the ones who must remain gracious, loving, patient and kind. When the time is right, frame your thoughts and respond with calmness, knowing that you cannot do this through your strength alone. If the person asks forgiveness from you, grant it... It is time for us to be in comfort mode, reaffirming our love. It is in this, that the gospel becomes a reality.. We have spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Him to another, and that person will not only be able to bask in it, but spread it on to others... I have one last part of this forgiveness series to share with you on Monday...

Have a great day... Let His Light shine through you... Love mark Phil.4:11
