How About Each Other

"Now about brotherly love we do not need to write you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more" (1 Thess.4:9-10).

As we look again into the rear view mirror that was 2014, how did we do with our relationships with our brethren? Did we reach the bench mark set by members of the church in Thessalonica in today's verses? I hope that our love for our brethren improved as as the year went by... Did it? And if it was pretty good, are we ready to make improvements? Have you had some of your brothers and sisters into your home this past year, and have you been in theirs? "Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling" (1 Pet.4:9). If there are some new folks that have come into your church, have you taken the time and effort not just to welcome them, but to get to know them? Have we spent some time to email, write, text or call any of our brothers and sisters during the year? Perhaps it would be a good idea to have our church directory near our Bibles. "Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name" (3 Jn.14). We could then make contact with those of our brethren we have missed. The better we get to know and love our brothers and sisters, the more we will be able to understand how to serve them. We notice in today's verses, that even after the apostle Paul compliments the members at Thessalonica, he says this: "We urge you, brothers, to do so more and more." Lets resolve to make 2015 the year that we really get closer to our brethren in brotherly love...

Have a wonderful day... Make your little part of the world better... Love mark Phil.4:11
