Carpe Diem

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin" (Heb.3:13).

As we go though this week, lets "carpe diem..." Carpe diem has been generally translated in this way: "Seize The Day" We all need to be more mindful of what we can do each day... The things that happen to us that produce the greatest spiritual growth are those things that happen on what we would call ordinary days. Growth is not usually predicated on the great choices we make on momentous occasions. What makes us grow are the ordinary day-to-day decisions to do the good things that we know are the right ones. With that in mind, lets seize the day... Lets seize each day as if it is the special one, because after all, it is... Lets resolve to do the the little things that can advance us ahead in our relationship with God and others. There is not a day that goes by that doesn't present us with fresh new things we can do that will help us grow. I believe it is important for us to make the determination to not only look for these things, but to act on them... You might now ask about what things we should be looking for... Let me suggest a few... Lets look for the chance to increase in knowledge. Each day may give us a chance correct some of our mistakes. How about the chances we are afforded to increase some of our skills. Maybe there's a broken relationship we can start to mend. Finally, each day might give us a chance to form better habits. We can make today a special one if we seize it and squeeze each opportunity from it...

Have a great day... Do good and give God the credit... Love mark Phil.4:11
