More Knowledge

"I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes me will never be thirsty" (Jn.6:35).

How satisfying is it when you are asked a trivia question by someone, and you know the answer? There is an innate quality within us that almost bursts open when we can call on some knowledge that we have retained. For me, the satisfaction of having a student grasp something I had been trying to teach, made teaching all worthwhile. Jesus wants us to know that when come to a knowledge of Him, that our satisfaction is great. So great that he compares it to food for someone that is hungry and liquid to one who is thirsty. Before the apostle Paul (Saul) came to a knowledge of Jesus Christ, he was a very prominent man in the Jewish faith. But his true satisfaction came when he was willing to forego the advantage he had in Judaism, and replace it with the knowledge of Jesus... Along with a satisfying knowledge, there is an intellectual one also. Jesus doesn't expect us to empty our minds of everything except Him, but He wants us to actually use our minds as well. Therefore, we should desire to know all that the Word reveals about Him. That includes both His human and divine nature along with how he serves as our priest and king, Savior and shepherd... We must look at His works both past and present and see how they dovetail into our present and future as we look at where He is today... The knowledge of Jesus Christ calls on us to be intelligent in our choices and brings us great satisfaction.... More tomorrow...

Have a wonderful day... Do good and give God the credit.... Love mark Phil.4:11
