Knowing Even More

"So that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col.2:2-3).

Have you ever read a book that captured you so completely that you couldn't put it down? You got so into it that you did not want it to end. This is what I call excitement, because the more you know, the more you want to know! When we start learning about Jesus, as we see in today's verses, we find that in Him "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge..." I would challenge you today to read from today's verses (2-3), all the way down to verse ten (10) and meditate upon them. We will come to see in Him "all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form..." (V 9). We'll also find out that in Him "we are given the fullness in Christ, who is head over every power and authority..." (v 10). To me, what is so great about this excitement is that it grows, and as we become more mature in Him, it only whets our appetite for more... The last aspect of this mini-series about knowledge is this: It is the key to joy... It is the key to joy no matter what our circumstances may be. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Phil.4:4) There is a peace that fills our hearts when we find the joy of the knowledge of Jesus Christ... When Jesus told His disciples that He was leaving soon, they were saddened, as we would have been too...He concluded with these words... "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (Jn.16:33). As we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ we should find an excitement that is punctuated by joy....

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better.... Love mark Phil.4:11
