Our Problems? God's Providence!

"This is my Father's world, Oh, let me ne'er forget... That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet....'

From the Hymn, "This Is My Fathers's World" Words by Maltbie D. Babcock 1901

We live in a world that is broken by sin, and it comes in all sizes and shapes. If we lived in a problem-free world, we wouldn't spend so much of our time doing things shouldn't need to be done... Some of the problems are of a very small consequence, and others are great, but it takes time to solve them all. Job said this: "Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward" (5:7). There are many words that describe the things we have to deal with throughout our lives. Whatever we call them, they can turn into obstacles if we allow them to overcome us. As I look at it, it seems as though we have two ways or choices. I like to call one of the ways the "ostrich syndrome..." We can bury our heads in the sand and refuse to face the problem, thinking that by doing nothing it will go away... A wise friend of mine told me this; "that trick never works...." The other way is to deal with the brokenness of the world and turn to the Lord for help. Often when we try to solve problems on our own, we create new ones along the way, so why not believe in God's promise to provide for us... You know, His Providence... Instead of using a scripture this morning, I cherry-picked a few words from the hymn "This Is My Father's World." I would contend that this is our Father's world, and that he is guiding it toward a conclusion based on a fulfillment of His love and wisdom... "I have told you these things, so you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (Jn.16:33). This should provide our confidence and hope ----- this is how to face our problems....

Have a great day... Let His light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
