As He Sees Us - A Different View

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account" (Heb.4:13).

Abraham Lincoln is credited with the quote: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time. But you can't fool all of the people all of the time." There is some literary doubt that Lincoln actually said this, but the quote is noteworthy nonetheless... I find it interesting to compare it with today's verse from the Book of Hebrews. It says that God knows everything there is to know about us, both on the outside and inside. The outside and inside are not covered in Lincoln's saying. While contemplating the breadth of God's knowledge of us may be a fearful thought, it should be a soothing and encouraging one also... Even our closest friends can only know us in an imperfect fashion. God's knowledge is such that He will never misunderstand us. Not only that, but He sees us exactly as we should be thought of, with all the facts being taken into consideration. Here's the real kicker... We ought to want to know ourselves in this way, and with a bit of reflection, it is good to see ourselves as God sees us. When we see ourselves this way, we will often see things that need to be changed for the better... Why? Even though making these changes might be hard or even painful, and even with the imperfections, what God sees about us is that we are worth saving. As with Robert Frost's taking the road less traveled, (The Road Not Taken) we can agree with his conclusion... "And that has made all the difference...." More on this tomorrow....

Have a great day... Do good and give God the credit... Love mark Phil.4:11
