The Sharpened Ax

"If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success"

I haven't done a lot of wood cutting in my life, but I've got the difference between using a sharpened ax over a dull one pretty much figured out. The sharp one really slices through the wood easier and allows the job to be done with much less effort. I would like to compare that this morning with having a positive attitude about things, especially in the area of pleasing God. King Solomon said this to his son: "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life" (Prov.4:23). I think that the heart that Solomon is talking about is the attitude one has, and he is telling us to Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11... Sometimes we may act with the best intentions, but because our attitude is skewed, the job just doesn't get done the way it ought to. Like most everything, our attitudes must be monitored from time to time, and we do ourselves a big favor when we adjust them in a good direction. The work of the church gets done so much more effectively when everyone is humming along with a positive outlook and attitude. Not only does the work get done better, but we certainly enjoy it more when we have the right mental slant on things. This is an advantage that we are all capable of giving ourselves. The right attitude really helps us to please God and to do his work faithfully. Lets keep the sunny side up today...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
