Coming Out Of The Darkness

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (Jn.8:12).

Some folks allow themselves to get caught up in what seems to be the drudgery of life. Their souls are tired to exhaustion as they loose sight of some really important stuff. Jesus pleads with us with the beauty of these words: "Come to Me, all you who are wearied and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matt.11:28-30). As we dovetail this into today's verse, Jesus lets us know that He is the light of the world... Sometimes we allow ourselves to stumble around in the darkness when we can be illuminated by Jesus' most glorious light. The cool part of this is that as Jesus' followers, we get to reflect to others the light that comes from Him. In doing this, we actually become the light of the world that he wants us to be..."So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine out like stars in the universe" (Phil.2:15). If you've stumbled and bumbled around in the darkness, maybe even in your own home, you can feel for those in the world that are constantly in that state. We have everything at hand to help those in darkness... "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path..." (Psa.119:105). Lets be that great light that the Lord wants us to be... Like the Donna Fargo song says; "You Can't Be A Beacon If Your Light Don't Shine..."

Have a great start to your week.... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
