More Gospel Implications

"And Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him and believed were baptized" (Acts 18;8).

The gospel strongly implies that man has the ability to respond to is. To me, the really cool thing is that the gospel places a special confidence in humans to accept it. Even though sin is prevalent in everyone, it still does not render man incapable of responding. We would be living in a land of lollipops, unicorns and everyone sitting around singing Kum Ba Yah, if we assumed that all will be moved to act on the gospel, but that does not alter its power. The gospel was, is, and will always be God's message of hope to us for today and tomorrow, even though all won't accept it. I guess that Jesus Parable of the Sower (Matt.13, Lk.8) does a good job explaining this... Just one more gospel implication... The gospel implies that God uses man in saving man... In Mk.16:16, Jesus implores humans to go out and preach the Word to all the world... Just why would God place something so important into man's hands? I think the first reason lies within the fact that sin is a selfish act and we sometimes we can escape it by being interested in others. Maybe more telling is this; Men saved from sin can sympathize with those still in it and be more zealous in trying to share the gospel message. So this morning's thought is that the gospel is so good that it should be both accepted and then shared...Lets feel good about ourselves... After all, God does....

Have a great day... Go about doing good.... Love mark Phil.4:11
