How The Call Works

"But we always ought to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thess.2:13-14).

I am sure that all of you at one time or another have anxiously awaited a phone call. Maybe you had gone on a job interview and were waiting for that call of good news. Perhaps it was waiting for the refrigerator repairman to let you know when he would be coming by to fix your appliance... How disappointing and frustrating it can be to wait and wait for a call that seemingly never comes. Today's verses let us know just how the call from the Lord works for us today... He calls us though the gospel of our Lord. As we look intently at our Spirit inspired Bibles, we find all the truths we need to guide our lives. Also in there are the implicit instructions on how we are to get started. Though the apostle Paul was talking to the church at Thessalonica, the divine call is a present reality. God invites us all to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, and ultimately there in no other glory than His... It is a sad commentary on humanity that more folks don't listen to the call and respond positively to it, but Jesus knew it would be that way when He said; "Enter though the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it..." (Matt.7:13-14) Through the gospel, the call has gone out. The call to righteous living and the ultimate sharing in the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.. There should never be any anxiety, disappointment or frustration about the call because it is always clear and true....

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better.... Love mark Phil.4:11
