Bahavior In The Body

"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ" (1 Cor.15:12).

There is an interesting set of passages in 1 Cor.12:12-27. It would do us good to read and meditate upon these verses. I believe that they are designed to encourage all of Jesus' followers (the church) to take their place in His service. The apostle Paul does great job teaching here as he uses the known to explain the unknown. He explains here how members of the Lord's body ought to behave by comparing it to the functions of various parts of the human body. As we examine this passage, I would first like to look at the "closeness" of the body. We need to make sure that we don't get sucked up into the behavior of inferiority. (Vs 15-17) In the Corinthian church, the problem was often about the Spiritual Gifts from the apostle Paul... In today's church it would be easy for someone to fall into this same trap by saying, "I'm just not that important" to this church... Their excuses might be: (a) my attendance just isn't necessary. (b) I'm not affluent, so I can't contribute much, (c) I'm too old, (d) I'm too young, (e) I'm not educated enough. "But in fact God has arranged the parts of the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be" (V 18). God has a place of service for all members, even though all don't do the same thing(s). Lets make sure that within the Lord's body, we find a way to use our talents in the best way possible for the Him... Very often, some of the best work is done quietly and without fanfare. After we find a niche, we might enjoy it so much that we want to find something else we can do... I call that growth and maturity...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
