The Church Needs Fearless People

"But Peter and John replied, 'Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard' " (Acts 4:18-19).

If a Christian is going to have a positive effect on the church and him or herself, there are a few more traits that they must have... Last time we talked about knowledge, and I'd like to add to that this morning. A real Christian has to be like Peter and John were in today's verses. After they had healed a crippled man, they were brought before the Jewish Sanhedrin. Though the healing miracle could not be denied, the Jewish leaders were afraid of their power and influence and commanded them not to speak or teach in Jesus' name again... Today's verses comprised their response. The church needs people who are willing to both stand up and speak up for Jesus. We cannot heal people, and probably are not able to preach even a sermonette, but I don't think this is what today's verses reflect for us. We can all be fearless in our conviction of faith in Jesus Christ and the power of His church. The best way for most of us to be the witnesses for Him that we should be lies in our everyday actions. In our associations with people in the world, do we display our faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love? (2 Pet.1:5-7) If we are to be the true witnesses for the Lord that we ought to be, our real character will be on display through the way we deal with people every day. I think that this really comes to the forefront when problems arise. We must use our Christian traits as our problem solving devices, and if we do, people will sit up and take notice. Jesus wants folks that are not afraid to be Christians.... Fearless folks...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil.4:11
