God's Goodness - He answers Prayer

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Phil.4:6).

Have you ever seen the 2000 movie Castaway, starring Tom Hanks? If not, you ought to watch it. Tom Hanks is a systems engineer for Fed-Ex, and at the Christmas season must fly to Malaysia to solve a problem. The plane is caught in a violent storm and crashes into the ocean, with Hanks as the only survivor. Clinging to an inflatable raft, he washes up on an island. After exploration, he finds that the island is uninhabited and if I go on, you won't watch the movie. Many stories, movies, and even cartoons depict someone stranded on a desert island all alone. Have you ever imagined or dreamed that it happened to you? The idea one always gets is one of hopelessness... This is why being a Christian is so great. God did not set us out on some desert island without any help. He provided the Holy Spirit inspired Word to be our guide, and the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell within us when we were baptized. He left Jesus, the Son of Man, who experienced everything that we do, as our example. He even gave us brothers and sisters in the Lord to help us on our walk... But lets get to today's verse. It comes from the Epistle to the Philippians, and is one of my favorite scriptures... Through his Son Jesus, God has given us the wonderful avenue of prayer to approach him... According to Rom.8:26, "The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." God, in his wonderful goodness, has given us a way to not be anxious about anything. He has given us prayer. God Is so good...

Have a great day... Let his light shine through you.... Love mark Phil.4:11
