Believing That God Is

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Heb.11:6).

It would seem from today's passage that two things are demanded of the one who comes to God. First is a belief that he exists, and the second is that those that seek Him will be rewarded... John Clayton does a series, lectures included, called "Does God Exist?" Clayton is a science teacher and makes his proof of God's existence through science itself... I have attended more than once, and it is both informative, uplifting, and reinforcing, because it makes sense. It is, however, difficult for the everyday person to teach. Through the ages, the existence of God has been questioned, maybe to some extent, even by you and me... All good teachers know that questioning is important, and that it is one of the bedrocks of learning. The apostle Paul writes this; "Test everything. Hold on to the good" (1 Thess.5:21). I believe that truth has no reason to fear...So.... Just what does the evidence say of God's existence? Although a number of arguments have been made for the existence of God, the Bible does not present these arguments in a specific manner. I think it assumes that the existence and evidence of a perfect creator is a given... After all, the Bible starts this way; "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Gen.1:1). Hints of God's existence are dotted throughout the scriptures, and indeed they are prevalent... Lets put it this way... The Bible's "assumption" of a creator, means that it was not just written to establish faith in His Being, although this is an obvious result. Instead, it was written to convey God's message to all of man. I would like to write about the arguments for God's existence this week. I hope you will enjoy it...

Have a great start to your week... Begin it with a RAK or two.... Love mark Phil.4:11
