Psalm 122 - Worship And Committment

"I rejoiced with those who said to me, Let us go to the house of the Lord. Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem" (Psa.122:1-2).

Today, God's house is his church. These are the apostle Paul's words; "If I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth" (1 Tim.3:15). I am of the belief that no one can prosper honorably if they leave out worship to God in their lives...As its says in Psa.122:1, we are to rejoice with those who are going into the Lord's house to be with His people. C. S. Lewis said that it took an community to know an individual. It is common and correct for people to say that they want to "get to know Jesus better." I don't think we ever truly get to do this by ourselves. We have a need to be deeply involved in the church, a Christian community, with strong relationships of love and accountability. If we are a part of a community of believers seeking to resemble, serve, and love Jesus, we will really get to know him and grow into his likeness. Today's second verse speaks to us about committment. Like the game of horseshoes, there is a difference between an "insider" and an "outsider." Unalike the game, there are no "leaners..." Christians are expected to make a full committment to serve God in His place and in His way... Jesus said it succinctly in Matt.12:30... "He who is not with me is against me..." The first two steps toward peace and prosperity are wrapped up in being enmeshed in His church and making a total committment to Him.... More coming tomorrow...

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better... Love mark Phil.4:11
