What It Takes To Be A Stranger And Pilgrim

"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves..." (Col.1:13).

Jesus' disciples have been called out of this world and made citizens of a different kingdom... A heavenly kingdom! (Phil.3:20) When we decided to follow Jesus, we made a conscious effort to come out from this world as today's verse tells us. He brought us into the "kingdom of the Son he loves..." The people around us may call the world their permanent dwelling place, but we know better. We now become identified with, and are loyal to, a spiritual kingdom. We may reside here for a while, but we are seeking that permanent dwelling place as a homeland that has been prepared for us. "In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not true I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.... You know the way to the place where I am going" (Jn.14;2 & 4). To be true strangers and pilgrims, we must become strangers in this world because we are strangers to the world... The Lord has fashioned and molded us into something different, just as a potter makes a lump of clay into something useful. The apostle Paul wrote these words; "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.." (Rom.12:2) Doing this changes to way we think, and if we find ourselves not quite fitting in with the world's philosophies, priorities, values and goals, that is a good thing. We have found out what it takes to be a stranger and a pilgrim in a strange land. Lets all embrace our new citizenship...

Have a wonderful day... Do good and give God the credit... Love mark Phil.4:11
