God The Potter... Us The Clay

"Like clay in the hand of a potter, so are you in my hand..." (Jer.18:6).

As our creator, God is in charge of the molding process. Since He has power over us, the clay, we must know that God has a design in mind for each of us. We don't have the right to protest against His divine will. Just what should we know about this Potter? Actually, its what he knows about us that is important... I would propose that He knows at least these four (4) things. (1) He knows each of us, (2) He cares about us, (3) He knows what is best for us, (4) He has a plan for each vessel that he creates. To make this illustration work for us, we must actually make ourselves the clay to be molded... The clay cannot be worked unless it is soft and malleable, so in order for us to be clay in God's hand we must have the following: We must have faith to believe that God's way is right and trust that it is the best for us... We must have the humility to accept our place under the potter's authority... We must be meek enough to show our willingness to accept what is best for us. If we don't do this, its like looking into a mirror and not accepting what we see. "and after looking at himself in a mirror he immediately forgets what he sees..." (Jas.1:21). Finally, we must be obedient to His will. God made us as people with a free will of our own. We must make the choice of accepting His will and making it ours. Then we'll be good disciples....

Have a great day... Make your little part of the world better.... Love mark Phil.4:11
