Keeping Through Restoration, Good Works And Example

"Brethren, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted" (Gal.6:1).

To "restore" means to thoroughly repair or mend. There are times when we find brethren who are so broken or beaten down that they are in a spiritual state of emergency. They have allowed their sin(s) to separate or distance them from the Lord. "My brothers, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins" (Jas.5:19-20). The easy thing to do is to just let them go. However, we are our brother's keeper, which means we are responsible for one another... Love demands that we help out brothers in their spiritual need... Next, sincerity and good intentions are commendable, but may not meet urgent needs. Love is an action! The needs of our brethren are not satisfied by just "feelings, " but by actions. Jesus said of Himself that he did not come to be served, but to serve! The needs of our brethren should certainly get not only our attention, but our response... Finally. there is the good example that we set for others. The power of our influence and example cannot be denied, disowned or avoided. Strong Christians are to be mindful that folks are watching them and that they have an influence on their brethren. As our brother's keeper, we must always be aware of how our actions affect others. The apostle Paul was willing to go as far as to deny himself of a personal liberty for the sake of his brethren... Are we?

Have a great day... Let His light shine through us... Love mark Phil.4:11
