Peace, Happiness And Prosperity... An Old Recipe

"I was glad when they said to me, Let us to to the house of the Lord" (Psa.122;1).

Do you think its a proper statement for me to make that the more that things change, the more they stay the same? We have all heard a sermon or two or ten about the importance of attending worship services on the Lord's Day. Hebrews 10:25 probably worked its way into the lesson if my memory serves me correctly, but its obvious that things were the same way in the days of the Psalmist. There's an unbridled joy found in today's verse... I WAS GLAD when they said to me.... What was it that brought this great happiness on his part? LET US GO to the house of the Lord... God's house today is his church. "I write that you may know how one ought to conduct himself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth." (1 Tim.3:15). I don't believe that anyone can prosper honorably if they leave the worship of God out of their lives. Lets all keep that spirit of eager anticipation for worship in our hearts... Verse two (2) of the 122nd Psalm gives a bit more insight into a happier and more peaceful life. "Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem." True peace and prosperity also come from taking a stand for God. With God, there is a big difference between an insider and an outsider... Its just not good enough to "lean that way..." One is expected to make a full committment to serve God in His designated place and way. Jesus said this even more succinctly. "He who is not with me is against Me" (Matt.12:30). Will God give true peace, happiness and prosperity to someone who is against Him? Since Jerusalem is often a term used figuratively to refer to the church, are we standing within its gates? More about the recipe for peace, happiness and prosperity next Friday....

Have a great day... T   G   I   F         Today God Is First.... Love mark Phil.4:11
